Job Overview: This position is responsible to provide functional support, administration and day to day
operation management of the Company’s Databases.

Required Qualifications : Masters / Bachelors degree (16 years of equivalent education) in Computer Science
/ Information Technology / Software Engineering / B.E (Computer/Electronics) or related field from HEC
recognized institution.

Experience: For AVP : Minimum 12 years’ experience in Database support, configuration and management in a
modern environment

Job Description:

Analyze, develop, test and implement complex physical database designs; ensuring proper and effective structure, security and operation of databases that support Company Business applications.
Manage the availability of databases for business applications of the Company.
Develop and co-ordinate in producing security rules, procedures and guidelines for the protection of data sources.
Monitor and optimize the performance of all the Databases by utilizing different tuning techniques.
Develop and implement data administration policy, standards and models.
Capacity planning of Oracle & MSSQL database servers by analyzing their rate of growth.
Provide timely support to business team in routine based operations.
Ability to create test environments/instances of databases as per business requirement.
Fine-tune, establish and initiate database recovery activities, backup, installation, version upgrade and patching of databases.
Install, configure and manage Databases ensuring optimum performance.
Design, implement and manage processes to ensure availability and integrity of the data stored in databases.
Ensure Databases are being properly backed up as per company policy and ensure backup integrity.
Implement disaster recovery strategies to meet business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
Set up and monitor DB performance, troubleshoot issues; implement and enforce DB access controls.
Manage multiple high-availability failover clusters and Always-On Availability Groups.
Setup and manage Replication among different databases/sites.
Patch Databases installations in accordance with patch management processes.
Be available 24/7 to provide technical assistance, in support to critical business operations.

Implementation and management experience in Database Server High Availability and Disaster.
recovery solutions; including clustering, Availability groups and Replication.
Experience with database security design and Database automation.
Well versed in Database Server Performance tuning & troubleshooting using DMVS, Extended Events, Profiling, Wait Statistics etc.
Good understanding of the database underlying infrastructure such as Storage, Networking components and Server Hardware.
