Countering COVID-19: Measures Taken By House Building Finance Company Limited (HBFC)

COVID-19: Regulatory Relief to HBFC Customers

In the current pandemic of COVID-19, which has virtually slowed down the overall economic activity, House Building Finance Company Limited (HBFC) has announced a relief package for its customers. The relief package is aimed at providing relief to the Housing Finance borrowers.

The relief measures allow deferment of principal component of the monthly installment for up to 12 months. This deferment could be for period beyond 12 months or for mark-up payment or mark-up plus principal payments for certain period under re-scheduling/re-structuring of the account as has been provided hereunder.

Customers’ Eligibility:

  • *All Existing HBFC Customers.

Relief 1: Deferral in payment of principal component (alone) in monthly installment.
Deferment Period: Up to 12 months (may be revisited for *extension during deferred period).

Relief 2: Deferral in payment of mark-up component (alone) in monthly installment.
Deferment Period: Up to 06 months (to be *revisited after this period).

Relief 3: Deferral in payment of mark-up and principal components in monthly installment.
Deferment Period: Up to 03 months (to be *revisited after this period).
